Robert Pilcher

Pilcher’s Shoes is locally owned and operated by Robert Pilcher.  Robert was born and raised in Syracuse, Indiana.  He grew up helping his father run the business.  He attended Anderson University, majoring in Physical Education.  In 1978, he took over the business, and has not looked back since, giving him, altogether, about 40 years of experience.  Robert is a born-again Christian and is passionate about sharing his faith with those around him.  When he is not selling shoes, he is busy working on his plants!

The aim of Pilcher’s is to correctly fit each customer who walks through our doors.  This is achieved by getting the ball-joint in its correct place and leaving enough space ahead of the toes so they are not cramped or twisted.  A large percentage of people who come into our store complain of plantar fasciitis, bunions, foot pain, knee pain, back pain, etc.  More often than not, the reason for this is wearing shoes that are not the correct length for the arch of your foot.  Without this support, the foot sags, nerves and blood vessels are pinched, and circulation is impaired.  Our employees are instructed in the correct way to fit each customer, and would love to share what they know to help you find comfortable AND supportive shoes.
